Sandwell High School for Girls will give your daughter the education she needs for the future she deserves.
- Proud Traditions
- Wide Horizons
- High Achievement
Help us make this happen by September 2013.
We are a group of experienced school leaders who are working with local parents to establish a girls school for Sandwell. Every year hundreds of Sandwell families want to send their daughters to a girls school; some leave the borough and others are disappointed. SHS will enable girls to stay in Sandwell for an excellent education.
You can help us make this happen by registering your interest. Join us at one of 9 parents' evenings. Look for us in your libraries and local supermarkets.
About Sandwell High School for Girls
With a proposed opening of 2013, Sandwell High School for Girls (SHS) will be an outstanding school for girls aged 11 - 18. SHS will provide world-class education for girls from every background, characterised by the development of independent thought and learning.
Sandwell High School for Girls will be built on three pillars:
- Exciting curriculum
Girls' learning will be based on the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile, with communication and numeracy at its heart. They will take the full complement of subjects and courses needed to progress to the best universities, colleges and careers. - Rich extra-curricular opportunities
On at least 3 days a week, girls will take part in extra-curricular activities including music, sport, arts and drama and further sciences. Some of this may happen during the school day and some will happen after school. Girls will have the chance to discover what they like, and focus on where they want to excel. - Outstanding pastoral Support
Every girl will have personalised support to suit her needs. Every girl will be part of a house with girls from all of the other years. In year 7 some girls will be part of a small nurture group with staff who have particular expertise in supporting the transition from primary to secondary school.
